TITLE: Associate Investment Banking
 

DUTIES: Scotia Capital (USA), Inc. seeks Associate Investment Banking in New York, NY to prepare client presentations and financial modelling. Mentor and supervise Analysts. Participate in live transactions and business development under the guidance of senior group members. Contribute to overall team success ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Champion a client centric culture focused on deepening client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge to deliver solutions that Scotiabank can provide across its organization and generate revenue. Coordinate with the various product groups and industry teams within GBM. Develop and maintain effective industry relationships with legal counsel, external parties, and clients. Evaluate and analyze the financial needs of corporate clients, including the development of financial models, supporting the team in determining advisory and financing solutions for our clients. Collect, consolidate, and interpret company and industry data. Perform comprehensive financial statement analysis and create and maintain models. Conduct financial and written analysis of companies and industries. Identify and develop business opportunities with clients. Prepare client presentations, including compiling data and assembling presentation materials. Support transaction structuring and execution efforts, with increasing levels of responsibility and accountability over time. Apply product and capital markets knowledge to help clients achieve their financial objectives. Develop more junior bankers across CIB   and GBM through active engagement on developing their technical, coverage and leadership skills) providing real-time positive and constructive feedback to support their development. Actively partner with group leaders and broader team to build team dynamics and engagement across teams. Actively contribute to a high performance and inclusive work environment.
 

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Finance or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation: utilizing Microsoft Excel to create financial models for pitches and deals; utilizing PowerPoint to create pitch materials and client materials; utilizing finance and accounting to analyze businesses and analyze valuation; utilizing experience with healthcare industry and life sciences to evaluate companies and analye strategic moves in the sector. 10% travel required nationally. FINRA Series 79TO, Series 63, and SIE registration required. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. When not telecommuting, must report to work site. In lieu the Bachelor’s degree, the employer will accept a Master’s degree in the above stated fields. Offered salary is between $177,000 and $225,000 per year. 40 hours per week.
