TITLE: Associate Director, US Equity Derivatives
DUTIES: Scotia Capital (USA), Inc. seeks Associate Director, US Equity Derivatives in New York, NY to be responsible for all aspects of the US Corporate Equity Derivative book, including sales, structuring, pricing, execution, funding, risk management, legal, compliance, client management/onboarding and all operational pieces. Analyze U.S. Corporate clients’ capital and financial needs to provide tailored derivative solutions. Understand and articulate the mechanics and risk profile of transactions. Partner with Equity Capital Markets and Corporate and Investment Banking to find opportunities to present structured derivative solutions to the Bank’s Corporate clients. Work with legal/tax/compliance to review non-standard trade documents, articulate exotic structures to different risk groups and co-ordinate with the back and middle office on potential booking implications. Performed trading supporting, including review of trade bookings/confirmations and assist various back-office functions in resolving breaks, and risk based PNL issues. Performed risk management to ensure market risks are well contained within approved limits framework. Performed product development to work with internal support groups to improve models to support new business development.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or related occupation: working with Global Capital Markets and financial products including working with derivatives booking systems and Bloomberg; working with Corporate and Investment Banking divisions including researching and identifying potential clients which progress into transactions; utilizing experience with risk appetite and working with key approval centers; coordinating product development initiatives for core Equity Derivatives products with control groups and trading desks; utilizing knowledge of financial regulations including Dodd-Frank Act to ensure trading and operating within regulatory framework; and utilizing experience with internal trading and technology systems, including peak/k2, risk monitor, ICARUS, AlgoX, Cerberus, and Droit to ensure risks are correctly captured and adherence to internal policies. FINRA Series SIE certification required.
SALARY & WORK SCHEDULE: $225,000-$225,000/year and 40 hours/week.
