Overview

 

The Associate Director is responsible for helping to manage the operations of the Structuring and Execution team in US Corporate Banking reporting to the Managing Director in New York. The AD is a member of a high functioning team that will help to oversee the analysis, recommendation and monitoring of the US borrower portfolio for the Bank. This includes facilitating the team’s business strategies, plans, budgets, resource management, financial reporting and how those initiatives are executed while remaining in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Acting as the right-hand person to the US Managing Director, often acting as a delegate in key forums and decisions and represents US CIB in these discussions 

 

 

 

What You’ll Do

  • Stakeholder Management: Help to build a positive working relationships with key stakeholder cohorts to ensure the strategic roadmaps are aligned, prioritization of efforts is agreed to and resource needs are met. Implement strategic information campaigns to promote key initiatives, where relevant. Single point of contact for all data and software resources and needs. Liaises directly with the COO office.
  • Portfolio Management: Help to streamline, disseminate, and communicate the activities and performance of the team. Take responsibility to take the lead in the roll-out process and procedures. Assist in driving the execution of strategic priorities and further develop delivery roadmap for the Execution & Structuring. Serve as central point of communication and coordination for all team reporting for Structuring & Execution. Maintain key relationships with business line stakeholders.
  • Operations Management: Provide financial oversight on annual spend for Finance and executives for both operational and project budgets. Streamline and manage key performance reporting for the team. Aid in developing sound financial strategies to reduce overall expense spend year over year. Conduct research to identify areas for operational efficiency improvement, investigate current process workflows, business procedures, and recommend and implement solutions. Oversee resource utilization metrics and analysis to optimize resources allocation and productivity across in-flight and planned initiatives.
  • Business Head support Drive the building of positive working relationships with key stakeholder cohorts to ensure the strategic roadmaps are aligned, prioritization of efforts is agreed to and resource needs are met. Implement strategic information campaigns and roadshows to promote key initiatives, where relevant. Vendor Relationship Management – Single point of contact for all data governance vendor engagements via COO office. Develop standardized forums of communication. 

 

 

What You’ll Bring 

    • Professional risk related accreditation desirable (CA/CPA/CFA/MBA) 
    • Specific bank lending/adjudication, market risk and credit risk experience 
    • Solid understanding of general accounting and risk management principles (GAAP, etc.) 
    • Strong capabilities in the use Word, Power Point and Excel 
    • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills 
    • Strong knowledge of the Bank’s policies, procedures and related risk management culture and appetite 
    • Strong work ethic, team player, interest, positive attitude, ability to multi-task and works well with others in multiple locations and departments 
    • Strong analytical skills to assimilate complex information into a recommendation or report for executives
    • Knowledge of operations, finance, compliance, regulators, and IT additive
