Purpose:
Provides support for ABS structuring in the U.S., ensuring (1) alignment with the strategy and objectives defined by Global Securitization and (2) initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Fostering collaboration with other structuring teams to establish strong connectivity globally.


What You’ll Do

  • Drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Understands the risk profile of transactions and puts processes in place to manage those risks.
  • Fosters new and existing client relationships in addition to cross-selling existing relationships across other areas and product groups.
  • Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team
  • Support the origination of, and responsible for, the structuring of Conduit and Term ABS transactions
  • Transaction execution functions will include warehouse financing and capital markets deal processing, with specific responsibility for financial modeling, structural and collateral diligence and analysis, credit analysis, and interaction with internal credit department, capital markets syndicate team, clients, attorneys, rating agencies and other internal and external parties involved in Conduit and ABS transactions
  • Review and negotiation of transaction legal documents
  • Develop marketing materials and presentations for clients
  • Develop ABS offering materials including stratifications, arrange for third party service providers
  • Build cash flow models for transaction analysis
  • Prepare written credit summaries and present to credit committee
  • Due diligence of existing and potential clients that includes reviews of the operations, strategy, and asset and financial performance
  • Manage annual credit reviews of facility warehouses
  • Work on special projects as directed

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Deep ABS product and modelling knowledge and experience, including technical proficiency with MS Excel modeling, PowerPoint, Intex, and Bloomberg
  • 2+ years structuring experience
  • Ability to multi-task, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, and also work well within a small team environment
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills
  • FINRA – SIE, Series 79 and 63
