Analyst – Short Term Interest Rate / Repo Sales & Trading 

Purpose: 
Based in New York and reporting to Desk Head of CMF, the candidate will support the broader Collateral Management and Funding sales and trading mandate with clients and across GBM.

Major Accountabilities:
•    Support primary sales coverage for institutional client base which includes agent lenders, money market funds, hedge funds, and other leveraged asset managers for front end cash, derivative, and repo markets in the US while achieving P&L targets for the desk.
•    Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
•    Work extensively with traders across CMF to develop and expand financing opportunities with existing clients.
•    Effectively communicate with the various trading groups and divisions within the bank to deepen existing client relationships while developing new client prospects that enhance the broader GBM business.
•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day trading decisions.
•    Monitor counterparty risk to ensure timely and accurate margin calls while maintaining long term client relationships.
•    Work closely with all trading desks within Global Banking and Markets to provide secured funding solutions to minimize balance sheet usage and WSF utilization while maximizing trading revenues.
•    Develop cross-market operating procedures to improve efficiencies and maximize trading opportunities.
•    Continuously improve methods and processes to enhance profitability and/or mitigate operational risks on the desk.


Education/Work Experience/Designations:

Academic: 
•    Ideal candidate will possess a relevant bachelor’s degree (Commerce, Economics, Mathematics or related discipline) or equivalent qualification.

Functional Competencies:
•    1-2 years of capital markets sales and/or trading experience.
•    Keen interest in USD short term rates environment.
•    Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines, have the aptitude to synthesize large amounts of information and develop innovative solutions.  
•    Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
•    Adaptable with the ability to manage projects independently, while working in a team environment.
•    Ability to meet the challenges presented by a fast paced, constantly changing work environment.
•    Strong financial and computer literacy skills. High competency in Excel, Access and PowerPoint.  
•    Ability to multitask, excellent problem resolution and time management skills.
•    Strong business focus with multi-tasking capabilities in a fast moving and challenging environment

Regulatory Requirements:
•    Series 7 & 63 an asset, but will become a requirement for successful candidate.
•    This role requires successful completion of the National Futures Association’s Swaps Proficiency Requirement (SPR), prior to engaging in in-scope activity.
