Purpose:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, dynamic team as an Analyst within U.S. Loan Syndications. You will provide broad range support to the team responsible for structuring, underwriting, and distributing syndicated loans for Scotiabank’s corporate and project finance clients. You will gain hands-on experience, working alongside senior professionals, to deliver financing solutions to a wide range of clients across various industries.

- Play key role in the preparation of customized pitchbooks, client proposals and marketing materials to support the team’s origination efforts.
- Assist in preparation of Confidential Information Memoranda, Lender Presentations and other investment materials for Lead Arranged transactions.
- Manage deal sites, assist in coverage of prospective participating lenders and liaise with external counsel on live transactions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Capital Markets and Credit, Risk and Operations departments to ensure seamless execution of transactions.
- Support senior team members in transaction due diligence, deal documentation and internal approval processes.
- Maintain various internal databases and generate internal reports for comparable transaction analysis, client and prospect tracking, league table and sector reporting etc.
- Monitor loan market trends and developments to identify strategic opportunities.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in finance, accounting, or related field.
- 1 - 2 years of experience in Investment Banking, Loan Syndications or Capital Markets-related field.
- Project finance experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of financial markets, credit analysis and accounting principles.
- Strong technical and analytical skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Self-starter with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
