Overview/Purpose:
Reporting to the President & CEO of Scotia financing to assist in the oversight, reporting, development and co-ordination activities of the US based portfolio of Corporate Borrowers. This requires working closely with various stakeholders and keeping them apprised of activities, facilitating loan evaluation and growth.
What You’ll Do:
• Aid in preparing Board Meeting presentations, including pre and post meeting materials like agendas, meeting materials, and minute records.
• Organize, coordinate and lead ad-hoc management activities and interactions between internal and external stakeholders
• Liaise with groups within the Bank supporting the business:
- U.S. Corporate Banking
- U.S. Finance
- U.S. Treasury
- U.S. Legal
- U.S. Taxation
- DGO (data governance office)
- GWO (Global Wholesale Operations- US and Canada)
- GRM (Global Risk Management including submissions)
- Accounting
- Internal Audit
• Regular business transactions:
- Assist in the coordination of all day-to-day activities (e.g. loan origination, document negotiation, product and client management, client communication, KYC).
• Desirable Skills:
- Strong presentation and multi-tasking skills
- Data manipulation and presentation with strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Oversee portfolio and manage portfolio events (Repayments, upcoming maturities, etc.)
- Comfort with investigating incomplete or misaligned data
• Review and challenge procedure and procedure documents for all processes where relevant and ensure they are adhered to and maintained.
• Function as the backup to the Associate on the production of reports and daily communications
• Ensure loan transfers are executed properly and in a timely fashion (KYC, Legal Docu Review, GWO interaction all necessary to complete an assignment
• Assist in the evaluation of potential loans for suitability to the SFUSA
• Creation and execution of daily dashboard to ensure senior management is aware of trends and opportunities
• Ongoing engagement with Banking teams to evaluate opportunities
