Position Highlights: Scotiabank’s U.S. Rates sales Desk is seeking a highly motivated Analyst to join our dynamic sales team in New York. In this entry level role, you will support senior salespeople in delivering exceptional client coverage and executing trades across a broad range of Rates products, including US treasuries, Derivatives, Futures, CAD$ Rates, Structured Products, and spread products. You will work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment serving institutional clients such as hedge funds, asset managers, insurance companies and official institutions.

What will my responsibilities look like?
- Support all trades by maintaining communication with clients, traders, salespersons and all other relevant personnel to provide efficient and accurate execution of daily transactions
- Develop and demonstrate knowledge of products, markets, customer needs, trader mannerisms and systems to successfully perform accountabilities
- Support senior salespeople in day-to-day client coverage, including preparing market updates, trade ideas, and client presentations
- Assist with Trade Execution, modeling, pricing, post trade operations for US and CAD Rates products
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (traders, research, middle office and operations) to ensure seamless trade processes and regulatory documentation
- Contribute to new business development by identifying opportunities and supporting pitch materials
- Perform structuring, analytic, due diligence and client compliance functions
- Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations for his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day to day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/ sanctions and conduct risk
- Champion a high-performance environment and demonstrate ownership of the team and Rates business

- You are completing an undergraduate or graduate degree by Spring 2026 in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field
- You can demonstrate genuine interest in financial markets, trading dynamics, and data‑driven investment or risk analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret trends or patterns in financial or market data
- Proficiency with Excel (lookups, pivots) and willingness to learn new tools on the job
- You have a track record of academic excellence, quantitative problem‑solving, or analytical project work.
- You are an independent thinker capable of analyzing complex datasets, generating insights, and contributing meaningfully to team decisions.
- You bring strength in analytical reasoning, technical communication, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced, quantitatively demanding trading‑floor environment
