Purpose of the position:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Translation Services, the incumbent will manage and update the department’s terminology base, as well as act as a linguistic resource person for members of the team and external vendors.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct terminology research for internal and external translators.
  • Manage and update the department’s translation memory.
  • Communicate with requesters to obtain clarifications as required.
  • Occasionally translate a variety of documents from English to French.
  • Create glossaries and terminology records.     

 

Complexity of duties

This position requires the following:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a terminologist  
  • B.A. in translation or linguistics, with specialization in terminology   
  • Thorough knowledge of French and English
  • Attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of translation software and MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of bank products and services (an asset)
  • Member of OTTIAQ (an asset)
