The Marketing Coordinator plays an important role in executing Scotiabank’s marketing strategy for the Quebec market. Their mandate is to support the Director, Marketing Planning and Regional Growth Initiatives (Quebec) in various projects and tasks to position Scotiabank as a bank of choice in Quebec. Responsibilities include participating in marketing campaigns adaptation, coordination of event logistics, local activation of corporate sponsorships, production of promotional materials, and various other duties required to support the Bank’s efforts to increase presence, visibility and lead generation in the Quebec market, in alignment with GrowQC’s Program ambitions.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will be driving:
- Campaign Development and Execution: Assist in creating, implementing, and coordinating marketing campaigns that support the growth strategies of all business lines in the Quebec market.
- Content Creation, Adaptation and Proofreading: Partner with teams across Marketing to assist in creating, adapting and proofreading of marketing materials.
- Business Lines marketing support: Liaise with and support business line teams (i.e., Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, Wealth Management), managing and filtering marketing support requests. Craft recommendations on support opportunities to prioritize and pursue. Ensure excellent marketing support to business lines through good relationship building.
- Event Management Support: Support corporate event planning and execution.
- Admin and Inventory Management: Partner with various teams to manage branding materials, budgets, document repositories, and merchandising inventory.
- Budget Management: Support tracking and managing marketing budgets, including reporting and invoicing.
- Performance Tracking: Assist in monitoring and tracking the performance of marketing campaigns and initiatives and keeping record of all assets.
- Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating the Bank’s vision/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Specialized post-secondary diploma or undergraduate degree in marketing, business, communications or a related field of studies.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in a related role with strong familiarity with marketing principles, practices and channels, and proficiency with digital channels.
- Good knowledge of project management, process design, marketing research, and data & analytics notions.
- Good stakeholder management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a complex matrix-operating organization and highly regulated industry is desirable.
- Experience in organizing or promoting events including logistics and guest management is desirable.
- Excellent mastery in Microsoft 365 suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, is needed to use and create spreadsheets, presentations to various internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge and experience with Adobe Workfront or other work management solutions is considered an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential, in French and English.

In addition to French, the successful candidate must also have sufficient knowledge of English, as the work involves interacting and collaborating regularly with groups and individuals based in Toronto, as well as constantly interacting with other people, including clients, who speak English, locally and elsewhere.
