What you will be doing: 

Contributes to the overall success of the Servicing - Statements & Payouts department in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? - In this role you will:

• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Verify and process incoming requests from supported units, branches, solicitors/notaries and other partners. Assist with customer/branch complaints as required and complete other related processing requests as assigned.
• Conduct investigations to resolve exception situations, complete complex adjustments or corrections and answer general procedural queries.
• Acquire and maintain knowledge of department functions/processes, systems and related retail products and services.
• Take ownership for self-learning and personal development planning.
• Provide guidance, training and support to team members and peers.
• Understand and consider the Bank risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Pursue effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank Values, Code of Conduct and Global Sales Principles while meeting risk and compliance obligations.
• Champion a high-performance and inclusive work environment.
• Provides processing support for more than 900 branches in the Canadian branch network, including more than 50 Quebec based branches. 
• Over 80,000 Payouts, 9,500 Small Balance Payouts and 90,000 Statements completed annually. 
• Services a mortgage bank portfolio exceeding $160B. 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

• High School diploma and a minimum of 2 years of office-related experience.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office products
• Work in a standard office-based environment. 
• Requires very close attention when reviewing/reading material. 
• Pressure from meeting deadlines and situations requiring prompt attention. 
• May experience significant fluctuations in work volumes or unexpected events requiring overtime.
