Purpose
Global Transaction Banking is hiring a Bilingual Associate Director, Trade & Working Capital Solutions – Commercial Banking for Montreal!
In this role you'll be responsible for the development and delivery of Trade Finance solutions with Commercial Banking clients in Canada, ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
What You’ll Do:
- Drive and deliver on a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Develop profitable Trade Finance business from an assigned portfolio and geographical coverage to reach pre-established annual targets.
- Execute an effective marketing program to increase the visibility of Trade Finance amongst customers and prospects.
- Promote and refer client specific Global Transaction Banking and Scotiabank solutions.
- Deliver and maintain a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Contributes to an environment in which your team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
What You'll Bring:
- Fully Bilingual communication skills in French & English.
- University business degree and business development experience.
- Excellent knowledge of Trade Finance and Open Account solutions.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience advising and promoting trade finance solutions to business decision-makers.
- Expert Understanding of international trade and solutions that provide risk mitigation and/ or enhanced working capital for businesses.
- Knowledge of governing rules like UCP 600, URDG and ISP98 are not essential but considered beneficial.
