Jarislowsky Fraser’s Institutional Client Transitions Management Team will oversee the onboarding of Institutional Clients and maintenance/restructuring of client accounts. The Associate, Client Transitions Management will report directly to the Associate Director, Institutional Operations and act as the primary contact for clients and internal stakeholders in the onboarding and account maintenance processes. A unique opportunity for someone interested in the client service side of investment management, the role supports the functional areas of Institutional Client Services and contributes to the overall success of the Portfolio Management team.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Manage the onboarding of Canadian, US and global Institutional clients and account maintenance to ensure seamless experiences for clients and business partners;
- Be the key contact in the onboarding and maintenance process with external stakeholders including clients, custodians and consultants;
- Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage the broader firm’s relationships, systems and knowledge;
- Manage regulatory, business and portfolio requirements, potential risks and client needs, working with internal teams including Sales, Portfolio Managers, Legal, Compliance, Operations and other stakeholders;
- Coordinate client restructures and maintenance including annual reviews, changes to mandates, benchmarks and account transfers;
- Develop processes and procedures for new servicing requirements. Identify and implement process improvements for onboarding, maintenance and other initiatives;
- Understand how Scotiabank and JF’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions;
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of your respective areas in accordance with the Bank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/Sanctions and Conduct Risk; and

Education, Professional Experience, Certifications and Skills required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, preferably in Business, Finance or related discipline.
- 3+ years financial services industry experience in Institutional investment management or other relevant functional area.
- Bilingualism required (French and English).
- Good multi-tasking, planning, organizational and time-management skills.
- Self-motivated, confident and capable of working both independently and in a team environment, prioritizing workload and seeking support when appropriate.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite of applications, databases and related systems and software applications. Sharepoint and Excel knowledge is an asset.
In addition to French, the successful candidate must also have sufficient knowledge of English, as the work involves interacting and collaborating regularly with groups and individuals based in Toronto, as well as constantly interacting with other people, including clients, who speak English, locally and elsewhere.
