Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives (International Banking Retail)

 

Purpose

Responsible for providing fact-based, forward-looking financial and performance insights to support IB Retail’s strategic agenda across the region. The role serves as a central analytical anchor within the Strategic Initiatives team, translating strategic initiatives into quantified financial outcomes, assessing performance versus plan, and enabling senior leadership to make data-driven prioritization, investment, and execution decisions. This role provides clarity, comparability, and transparency on how initiatives contribute to financial objectives, client dynamics, and operational performance, while reinforcing accountability across markets

 

Accountabilities

•    Quantify strategic impact: Develop and maintain robust financial and performance analyses to quantify the expected and realized impact of strategic initiatives on revenues, profitability, client growth, and balance sheet metrics.
•    Performance tracking and gap analysis: Monitor performance versus plan, forecast, and targets across countries and segments; identify gaps, underlying drivers, and emerging risks or opportunities.
•    Standardized reporting and comparability: Design and manage standardized performance frameworks, scorecards, and dashboards that enable consistent cross-market comparisons and executive-level visibility.
•    Strategic initiative evaluation: Support the prioritization and governance of strategic initiatives by assessing financial viability, scalability, and alignment with IB Retail strategic domains.
•    Client dynamics and segment analytics: Analyze client acquisition, deepening, retention, and mix dynamics across segments (e.g., Mass, Affluent, SMB), linking commercial actions to financial outcomes.
•    Data organization and reporting enablement: Structure, curate, and mine financial and performance data to develop tailored reports and dashboards aligned with IB Retail regional visibility (business reviews) and decision-making requirements.
•    Market benchmarking and continuous improvement: Leverage external market data, peer benchmarks, and industry trends to assess IB Retail performance versus the industry, identify areas of over- and under-performance, and translate best practices into continuous improvement opportunities.
•    Governance enablement: Support the establishment of an agile governance model by providing timely, reliable data and performance insights that allow for proactive course correction and prioritization of must-win initiatives.

 


Education / Experience / Other Information

·    Bachelor’s degree in relevant STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and Master’s degree preferred in Analytics/Business/Economics. 
·    Mandatory hands-on expertise in Big Data analytics, financial modelling, and business intelligence (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python) considered a strong plus.
·    Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the financial sector.
·    Demonstrated strategic influencing ability, and a high degree of collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
·    Results-oriented and problem-solving mindset.
·    Excellent communication and presentation skills.
