Purpose

Lead and supervise the Senior Data Base / Global Technology & Enterprise Platforms / globally and ensure that business strategies, plans and initiatives are carried out or complied with in accordance with current internal regulations, policies and procedures

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and drive a customer-centric culture for the entire team in order to deepen customer relationships and take advantage of the Bank's extensive relationships, as well as its systems and knowledge.

 

  • Configuration planning & deploying PostgreSQL servers on public cloud and on-premise servers.

 

  • Performance tunning, capacity planning and monitoring.

 

  • Database maintenance/housekeeping including database rebuilds/re-indexing/expansion and archiving.

 

  • Trouble-shoot PostgreSQL server problems and assist in the resolution of application problems.

 

  • PostgreSQL Server Software currency resolution including Patching/Upgrades/Migrations.

 

  • Assist in database code promotions & data fixes following internal change control process.

 

  • Disaster Recovery/High Availability (DR/HA) support with backup, recovery and failover/failback of local and remote replicated databases.

 

  • Provide DBA support to development/implementation projects as assigned, doing installations, database loading, migrations, testing, and go live support etc.

 

  • Follow Database best practices, security and change control process of the bank.

 

  • Creates an environment where your team performs efficient and effective operations in their respective areas, while ensuring compliance and effectiveness of daily business controls in order to comply with obligations aimed at reducing operational risk, the risk of regulatory noncompliance, the risk of money laundering and financing of terrorism and conduct risk, which include the responsibilities established under the Operational Risk Management Framework, the Risk Management Framework for Regulatory Compliance, the International Manual Prevention of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Education / Experience / Other information (include only those that are specific to the function)

      Educational Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline.
  • PostgreSQL and/or Google Data Platform certification is desired for this role. Have at least 5+ years of progressive technical working experience as a Database Administrator.

 

      Knowledge

  • English language skills (above average)
  • PostgreSQL  – setup, configure and support
  • Database performance and tuning
  • Database backup and recovery
  • Database Audit options
  • Working knowledge of MongoDB/MongoDB Atlas
  • Working knowledge of multitenant databases - setup, configure and support
  • Shift work – Afternoon, evening, night and weekend
