Purpose

 

Provides strategic direction, leadership and oversight for Retail & Small Business in IB ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are supported in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

 

Accountabilities

 

  • This role will have a dual mandate. Primarily responsible for the digital roadmap of International Retail Banking and the transformation of physical products to digital across the region. Secondly, it will oversee the digital factory in Mexico as its top priority to ensure the digitization of the Mexican market.

 

  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

 

  • Designs, develops and manages Retail products through collaboration with different functional teams to ensure effective product launch and ongoing support to address client needs and in alignment with segment strategies

 

  • Liaises with non-Retail lines of businesses to align on product value propositions, distribution considerations, and feedback loops on product performance to inform ongoing design efforts.

 

  • Drives strategic vision and execution of retail product design, ensuring alignment with segment needs and business objectives, including digital considerations for respective products and solutions.

 

  • Drives product innovation and manages the lifecycle of existing retail products to ensure continued success in the market, through data-driven decisions on product enhancements, updates, and eventual retirement.

 

  • Responsible for accomplishing the product strategic plans through goals related to volumes, product profitability, market positioning as well as the means to achieve them in the short and long term, maintaining close and coordinated relationship with Distribution, Segments and Customer Experience and other support areas, such as Risk, Operations, and IT.

 

  • Leads the standardization of product offerings, ensuring consistency and compliance with global regulations and policies as well regional development of digital solutions / products.

 

  • Liaises with Wealth to ensure Mutual Funds deliver on Retail segment strategies.

 

  • Partners with Retail Transformation and IB Modernization Office to orchestrate and lead regional products / solutions squads organized by priorities / journeys / business domains.

 

  • Aligns digital platform and product development with global vision developed and presented by the Enterprise Digital team.

 

  • Establishes pricing and terms that are globally competitive and aligned with strategic objectives.

 

  • Accountable for ensuring that any new and actual product and E2E flow is 100% compliant with our AML/KYC and Sales Practice directives.

 

  • Owns the continuous improvement of all E2E processes for all Retail products, this includes coordinating and prioritizing all the IT and Operations requirements with Retail Transformation Area and IB Modernization Office and regional / local counterparties.  

 

  • Negotiates, in coordination with Segments, the risk and collection model for the different products.

 

  • Owns the deployment and enforcement of Product Program guidance and procedures from a governance perspective to ensure consistency and standardization of the regional components.         

                                                                                                

  • Defines and implements the strategies related to activation, retention, balance, and penetration for the products. Creates and facilitates product-based loyalty and partnerships.

 

  • Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.

 

  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

 

  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.

 

 

Education / Experience

 

  • University degree with a minimum of 10-15 years’ leadership experience in products/digital solutions
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken, is a requirement for the role
  • Strong understanding of payments units, products, pricing and profitability, services, operations, systems, and practices.
  • In-depth understanding of products-related operational processes and controls, including knowledge of organization and infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading professional staff both in Head Office and across a distributed network.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and proven ability to evaluate options/alternatives and develop recommendations for complex and multi-dimensional problems/issues.
  • Expert Level Knowledge of International Financial Market.

 

 

Work Arrangement

 

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Moderate travel domestically and internationally. 
  • This position will be based in Mexico.
