Purpose
Leads the successful local execution of GTB migration initiatives in Mexico by managing on the ground delivery, coordinating with local Product, Technology, Business, and Operations teams, and ensuring alignment with global migration objectives. The role is accountable for local readiness, disciplined execution, stakeholder communication, and timely resolution of risks and issues, while ensuring activities are delivered in line with business priorities, internal policies, and governing regulations.
Accountabilities
• Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Own local delivery execution in Mexico, managing on-the-ground partnerships and ensuring alignment with global migration objectives.
• Partner with local Product, Technology, and Business teams to execute the migration plan effectively.
• Lead and manage the local migration team, ensuring operational readiness, training completion, and disciplined execution of migration activities.
• Act as the primary point of contact for local delivery risks, issues, and stakeholder communication.
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
• Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.
Requisitos
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Operations, Finance, or a related field; MBA or master’s degree considered an asset.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP, Agile/Scrum, Lean Six Sigma, or Change Management are considered assets.
• 8–10+ years of experience in delivery management, operations, program/project management, business transformation, technology implementation, or migration initiatives.
• Proven experience managing local execution of complex initiatives, including delivery planning, readiness tracking, stakeholder coordination, risk/issue management, and implementation support.
• Demonstrated experience as a people manager, including leading teams, aligning resources, managing performance, coaching staff, and ensuring execution discipline.
• Experience working with Product, Technology, Business, Operations, and regional/global teams to execute delivery plans and manage dependencies.
• Prior experience with migration, platform transition, operational transformation, technology modernization, or process transition initiatives is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of operational readiness, training completion, change impacts, implementation planning, and local execution dependencies.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and escalation management skills, with the ability to coordinate across local and global teams
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills required, given the role’s responsibility for managing local Mexico-based delivery teams and coordinating with the Global Migration CoE and global GTB stakeholders.
