Purpose
Leads and supervises the Internal Strategy Consulting team in Mexico and ensures that business strategies, plans and initiatives are carried out or complied with in accordance with current internal regulations, policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
• Leads and drives a customer-centric culture for his entire team to deepen customer relationships and leverage the Bank's extensive relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Leads and supervises the Consulting team in order to identify areas of opportunity in the Bank and develop transformational projects. Presents analysis to key stakeholders regarding customers, competitors, market, economic and financial performance.
• Defines the Bank's strategic priorities and monitors progress and compliance, with the purpose of identifying and exploiting the organization's competitive advantages to achieve Scotiabank Mexico's growth goals.Directs transformational consulting projects, whose central point is customer focus, to position the Bank at the forefront in the country and maximize returns.
• Trains the team on the best approaches to improve problem identification and encourages high quality standards in problem resolution and delivery of results to stakeholders.
• Responsible for introducing new hires to their roles and incorporating new people to the team (new hire, promotions and lateral changes) providing information from the bank’s vision, mission and culture, while also explaining role expectations and functions, with the objective of making the new acquisition to the team feel welcome and minimizing the learning curve.
• Establishes synergies between the business and support lines and supervises that their individual initiatives are aligned with the strategic objectives of the group. Maintains a comprehensive view of customer needs and maintains effective communication with Deputy General Managers and other key stakeholders in Retail, Corporate, Government, Commercial, support lines and international stakeholders.
• Understands the Bank's risk culture and how risk appetite should be considered in daily activities and decisions.
• Establishes synergies with the lines of business and supervises the offers according to the needs of wholesale and retail banking (at company and/or individual level).
• Creates an environment where the team conducts effective and efficient operations in their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, compliance and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations to reduce operational risk, the risk of regulatory noncompliance, the risk of money laundering and financing of terrorism and conduct risk, including the responsibilities established under the Operational Risk Management Framework, the Regulatory Noncompliance Risk Management Framework, the International Manual for the Prevention of Money Laundering and the Financing of Terrorism and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
• Promotes a high-performance environment and implements a workforce strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates its team, and to achieve this, fosters an inclusive work environment, communicates the vision, values and business strategy and manages a succession and development plan for the team.
Qualifications
• Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field
• +5 years of previous experience in the banking sector or related
• +3 years of experience in managing a team
• Experience in the development of competitive strategies in the banking sector or related sectors.
• Leadership and ability to generate transformational initiatives.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent level of English (90%)
