Title:  Manager - Finance Business Support Europe

Contributes to the overall success of the Finance Function in UK ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.




  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance and delivery of Management Information (MI) to support London Executive Committee, Business and Support Heads.
  • Review/prepare the key monthly Executive Committee financial summary, EXCO. This includes analysis of published results, liaising with business lines and ongoing EXCO report development and enhancement.
  • Produce and analyse monthly Corporate Banking, Investment Banking and Global Business Payments (Trade Finance and Deposits business)  MI reporting. Provide commentary on business performance, e.g. NIM, ROE.
  • Assist the business in their objective of booking Risk Weighted Asset efficient trades. This includes RWA reporting a and gaining a better understanding of the underlying calculations.
  • Produce weekly dashboard results to Executive.
  • Produce reports, reviews and analysis as required and provide ad hoc support to all business lines
  • Understand the Global Reporting view against Local Reporting – including reconciliations between different views.
  • Ensure documentation of assigned tasks are up to date.
  • Present innovative ideas to improve the presentation and quality of MI reporting.
  • Take a role in the preparation of the annual Expense forecast/plan process for the Front Office and Support Groups liaising with Support and Business Line heads.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of efficiency in processes and reporting.
  • Provide adequate cover for Cost Management Accountant and Capital Markets business.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Code of Conduct.
  • Contributes to a high performance environment and fosters an inclusive work environment; supporting the vison/values/business strategy for the team.




  • Being a member of a recognised accounting body is required.
  • Experience in a wholesale banking environment and understanding of the business products required.
  • Experience of dealing with Business Heads and Senior Stakeholders required.
  • An advanced knowledge of MS Excel/Access (Visual Basic (VBA) programming experience would be an advantage)
  • A good working knowledge of PeopleSoft and Essbase would be preferred.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, verbal, written and listening are a requirement.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to work independently as well as a member of a cross-functional team are a requirement.
