Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the European Finance Accounts Payable & Receivable Team, ensuring goals, plans and initiatives are delivered in support of business strategies. The role holder supervises the Accounts Payable & Receivable Team daily operations, performing payment systems approvals. The role is a key contact for internal and external queries, supporting colleagues and external suppliers with the prompt resolution of payment related matters. This role ensures all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities are conducted in compliance with internal policies, procedures, and governing regulations.
Accountabilities
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Receipt and settlement of supplier invoices within agreed payment terms across the European region.
- Processing of employee personal expense claims and Company credit card statements.
- Raise and approve intercompany charges with fellow Group companies.
- Accounts Receivable invoicing, ensuring settlement received within agreed terms.
- Management of the regional travel booking model, ensuring prompt settlement of payments due.
- Escalation contact for supplier invoicing queries.
- Resolution of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable bank reconciliation breaks.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with outsourced invoice processing team in Columbia.
- Support the Finance Management Information Team with monthly accrual and prepayment journals.
- Help wider business colleagues with invoicing queries and ongoing training requirements.
- Maintain process documentation for team areas of responsibility.
- Support the Team Senior Manager with project work.
- Direct line management responsibility for Accounts Payable clerks.
- Deputize in the absence of the Team Senior Manager.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture impact daily activities and decisions.
- Contribute to a high-performance environment and foster an inclusive work environment, supporting the vison, values, and business strategy of the wider European Finance Team.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of the respective areas of the role, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Code of Conduct.
Education / Experience
- Relevant accountancy qualification.
- Experience of performing a range of Accounts Payable, Receivable and Expense Management roles.
- Experience of working with outsourced invoice processing teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver to strict deadlines.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
