Programme Overview:

Scotiabank offers an exciting opportunity to join the London-based Operations team of a Canadian Bank commencing in June 2027.

This 10-week programme is designed for students in their first year of study (or second year of a four year degree) who are eager to learn and have a passion for Operations. 

The programme is rotational and offers the opportunity to gain varied experience in different areas within the Global Wholesale Operations team covering the Middle Office supporting Cash Prime Brokerage, Synthetic Prime Brokerage, Securities Lending, Fixed Income Cash, CMF, Interest Rate Derivatives and Debt Captial Markets.

What You Can Expect:

• Complete daily tasks for the various asset class Middle Office teams
• Collaborate with other Operations teams to deliver outstanding experience for the business and its clients
• Understand the role the Operations Middle Office team plays across all GWO utilities
• Spend time with Onboarding, Settlements, Collateral Management and Corporate Actions to understand the broader GWO landscape
• Spend time with the businesses we support to understand true front-to-back flows and how the Middle Office can improve the overall client experience
• Analyse metrics to identify opportunities for process improvements and then use knowledge gained to present ideas and solutions to deliver better straight through processing
• Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and drive efficiencies within the Middle Office Operations team, leveraging the latest AI or EUC-based solutions
• Complete an intern project assignment and present to leaders within Operations

Who We're Looking For: 

• You are a first-year undergraduate student (or second-year on a four-year degree) 
• You are available for a 10-week internship between mid-June to end of August 2027
• You have a demonstrated interest in and knowledge of Banking with a passion for Operations
• You are able to exhibit sound judgment to detect, solve, or escalate problems efficiently and effectively. Taking full responsibility and ownership for all tasks/activities performed
• You have strong attention to detail, communication, and analytical skills as well as being a team player
• You must be able to operate effectively within a challenging environment with changing priorities and tight time frames
• You have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment
• You are eligible to work in the United Kingdom
