Our Europe operations are located in London and Dublin and are part of our Global Banking & Markets (GBM) business. GBM provides a full range of investment banking, credit and risk management products and services relevant to the financing and strategic development needs of our clients.
Our products include debt and equity financing, mergers & acquisitions, corporate banking, institutional equity sales, trading and research, fixed income products, derivatives, energy, foreign exchange, and precious metals. We also cross-sell the full range of wholesale products and services offered by the Scotiabank Group.
Programme Overview:
Scotiabank offers an exciting opportunity to join the London-based HR team with a focus on the Global Banking & Markets division of a global bank headquartered in Canada commencing in June 2026.
This rotational 10-week internship is designed to give you hands-on experience across the full HR lifecycle in a global banking environment across London and Dublin.
You’ll work alongside specialists in Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partnering, HR Operations, Reward (Compensation & Benefits), and HR Governance, gaining exposure to best-in-class HR practices and contributing to projects that shape our talent strategy and employee experience.
You will gain a broad exposure to different HR disciplines, support real projects, learn best-in-class HR practices, and contribute ideas that shape the future of our talent strategy, early careers pipeline, and employee experience to accelerate your learning and skill development. 2 weeks of the rotational programme will be based in our Dublin office.
What You Can Expect:
- Rotate across HR disciplines: Shadow and support HR teams in London and Dublin, gaining insight into HR Business Partnering, Operations, Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, Payroll, and Governance
- Recruitment & onboarding: Assist with candidate sourcing, interview coordination, onboarding packs, and talent market research
- Data & reporting: Deliver accurate employee lifecycle reporting, support pay gap analysis and contribute to reward benchmarking
- Strategic initiatives: Support Early Careers planning, attend DEI campus events, and lead the Corporate Social Responsibility project for Summer Interns
- Cross-border exposure: Participate in Dublin HR projects and deliver a UK vs Ireland HR insights report
- Project work: Complete and present a dedicated intern project and key learnings to HR leadership
- Ad hoc support: Contribute to process improvements and other tasks that optimise HR performance
Programme Highlights:
Our internship is designed to give you real insight into life at Scotiabank. Alongside your day-to-day responsibilities, you’ll take part in:
- A weekly speaker series with leaders from across the Bank
- Peer to peer intern presentations
- Social and networking events
- A CSR project that supports one of our charity partners
Who We're Looking For:
- You are a first-year undergraduate student (or second-year on a four-year degree)
- You are available for a 10-week internship between mid-June to end of August 2026
- You have a basic understanding of Banking and Human Resources
- You are curious, proactive, and have a collaborative mindset
- You possess an analytical mindset with a passion for critical thinking and working collaboratively
- You have excellent interpersonal skills and looking to work as part of a diverse and inclusive team
- You are able to travel to and spend 2 weeks in our Dublin office as part of the rotational programme
- You are eligible to work in the United Kingdom
