Programme Overview:
Scotiabank offers an outstanding opportunity for students to gain real, hands-on experience through our Corporate Banking Summer Internship programme, commencing in June 2026.
This 10-week programme is designed for students in their penultimate year of study who are eager to learn, curious about financial markets, and passionate about building client relationships. Corporate Bankers work closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions that drive growth and long-term success.
As an intern, you will gain practical experience in a dynamic and supportive environment, developing knowledge, analytical and relationship management skills while rotating through several industry sectors within Scotiabank’s Corporate Banking business.
What You Can Expect:
During the programme, you will:
- Support Corporate Banking teams in the analysis of term sheets and due diligence materials
- Prepare credit presentations and recommendations for review by senior management, risk management and Credit Committees
- Assist with documentation and transaction execution, including internal approval processes and closing procedures
- Assist with monitoring of assigned portfolio with duties to include assisting on conducting annual reviews, reviewing compliance certificates and participation in regulatory / KYC processes
- Conduct market, company and industry analysis using internal and external data sources
- Research companies, assets and transactions using public and private information sources to prepare meaningful analyses
- Collaborate with relationship managers, product partners and risk teams on live client transactions and pitches
- Develop an understanding of Scotiabank’s products, services, risk appetite and risk culture
- Deliver a final presentation to leaders within Corporate Banking
Programme Highlights:
Our internship is designed to give you real insight into life at Scotiabank. Alongside your day-to-day responsibilities, you’ll take part in:
- Formal training at the start of the programme to build technical and professional skills
- A weekly speaker series with leaders from across the Bank
- Peer to peer intern presentations
- Social and networking events
- A CSR project that supports one of our charity partners
Upon completion of the internship, exceptional interns will be considered for entry onto our 2027 Corporate Banking Rotational Graduate Programme.
Who We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking curious, driven and collaborative individuals who demonstrate a genuine interest in Corporate Banking and client relationships.
Requirements:
- You are a penultimate year university student graduating in summer 2027
- We welcome applications from any degree discipline
- Available for a 10-week internship from June to end of August 2026
- Possess a strong interest in finance and global banking & markets
- Demonstrate commercial awareness, curiosity and a proactive approach to learning
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Eligible to work in the United Kingdom
