The Human Resources Summer Internship is an exciting opportunity to join the London-based HR team with a focus on the Global Banking & Markets division of a global bank headquartered in Canada for 10 weeks during Summer 2025. The programme will enable you to deepen your understanding of how an investment bank's HR function works, and the rotational nature of the programme will allow you to gain varied experience in the different areas within the HR function across London and Dublin.

 

The role predominantly sits within the HR team in London which focuses on Operations and Governance, Total Reward, HR Business Partnering, Payroll & Benefits and Talent Acquisition. 1 - 2 weeks of the rotational programme will be based in our Dublin office. 

 

What will my responsibilities look like?

 

  • Working with the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), assist with various tasks on Business Partnering, HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits and HR Governance.
  • Assist in the provision of accurate and timely reporting and monitoring of the employee lifecycle accountabilities.
  • Support with detailed analysis on results for Gender and Ethnicity pay gap initiatives providing insight to business leaders to help make decisions.
  • Assist with the planning the 2025/26 Early Careers strategy, attend Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) campus events and lead on the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project for the Summer Interns.
  • Support with the Experienced Hire interview process.
  • Working on key initiatives within the SME functions which will help to optimise business performance. 
  • Gain a better understanding of the regulatory environment that Financial Institutions work within.
  • Assist with preparing HR files and onboarding packs.
  • Track progress, deadlines, and priorities of all HR projects.
  • Prepare Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents and proofread HR documents including audits and handbooks.
  • Assist with implementation of efficient processes ensuring continuous improvement of processes & reporting.
  • Complete a specific intern project assignment and present it to the wider team.
  • Other ad hoc work efforts assigned by management.

  • Are a penultimate or final year undergraduate student graduating in 2025 or 2026
  • Have a basic understanding of Banking and Human Resources
  • Posses an analytical mindset with a passion for critical thinking and working collaboratively
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and looking to work as part of a diverse and inclusive team 
  • Are able to travel to and spend 1-2 weeks in our Dublin office as part of the rotational programme
