Misión:

The Sr. Manager, Issuing and Payments Networks, is responsible for managing the performance management and operational excellence of the bank’s credit card portfolio. This role oversees card-issuing portfolio optimization, authorizations, networks partnership management, compliance to regulatory and audit requirements as well to ensure sustainable growth, profitability, and alignment with the overall Retail Banking strategy are executed in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

¿Qué esperamos de ti?

 

  • At least 5-7 years of working experience in payments portfolio management with strong understanding products P/L drivers, benefits, pricing and the payments ecosystem and a track record of driving portfolio profitability.
  • Demonstrated multitasking and leadership abilities in a team-based environment.
  • Excellent financial, analytical, presentation and writing skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and collaboration abilities, driving cross-functional alignment
  • Experience with working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint),
  • Ability to work independently to accomplish tasks are essential

 

 

¿A qué retos te enfrentarás?

 

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

 

  • Leads the ideation and implementation of local initiatives focused on increasing the payments portfolio performance and profitability. The incumbent also manages the sizing, tropicalization and implementation of regional strategies and initiatives towards the same optimization goal. Some of the strategies include, but are not limited to, pricing, MCC profitability improvement, credit limit optimization, upgrades/cross-sell, penalties fees reductions, expenses optimization, etc.

 

  • Leads the management and continuous improvement of local cards authorizations rates, working in collaboration with the regional Payments Portfolio Optimization team, local Fraud and Operations in the implementation of both regional and local strategies, tools and rules to improve Retail Payments authorization rates to maximize payment volumes and customer satisfaction while keeping the bank safe.

 

  • Leads the local relationship with the payment networks (Visa, Mastercard, etc.), ensuring optimal business support, compliance with network standards and size local commercial opportunities while partnering with the Regional Issuing and Payments Networks to ensure strategic alignment between the bank’s objectives and partner programs.

 

  • Oversee the design and implementation of new credit card products, features, functionalities and benefits tailored to the bank’s segments, ensuring end-to-end customer journeys are frictionless and enhance satisfaction across digital and physical channels while fostering a customer-centric culture within the credit card team.

 

  • Manage strict compliance to local payments regulatory requirements as well the management of external or internal audits to prevent any monetary or reputational impact to the bank and keep the bank safe.

 

  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

 

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
