Our Summer Associates:


The Associate supports more senior officers through business development activities such as developing marketing materials and preparing market analysis. In addition, the Associate is responsible for executing client mandates.


Major Accountabilities:


Preparing marketing materials to communicate ideas and support business development efforts with clients.

  • Performing market analyses to communicate key industry trends with clients.
  • Identifying potential clients through screening analyses.
  • Executing client mandates by performing analyses as requested by senior officers and clients.
  • Communicating regularly with more senior bankers regarding the status of assignments and potential issues.
  • Working closely with the Bank’s specialized products groups (Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, etc.) to develop and promote effective marketing and delivery of the products to customers and prospects.
  • Completing compliance and internal approval requirements regarding both new and existing clients. 
  • Reviewing the work product of, and provide oversight to, more junior team members, specifically Analysts.
  • Supporting group activities such as recruiting and mentoring summer interns. 
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
    Education/Work Experience/Designations:
  • Current student pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent degree
  • Strong academics and leadership experience, including at least 2-3 years related banking or business experience. 
  • Demonstrated financial, accounting, computer literacy and excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • This is a complex and demanding environment with few guidelines. Considerable initiative, creativity and good judgement are necessary. A high level of commitment and a strong sense of teamwork are needed to succeed in the initial role.
  • Candidates must also have previous experience in corporate finance and it is preferable that they have previous experience in the energy industry.
  • Ability to operate with less direction and to deal independently with routine administrative matters for existing accounts and work independently; however, more experienced officers are available to provide guidance and direction.
