Purpose
As the Funding Operations Assistant Manager for Mortgage Capital Markets Operations, the role contributes to the overall success of the Global Banking and Markets by providing operational support of the business and ensuring plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
The job is responsible for:
- Onboarding, integration with clients to the platform, coordinating with back office on account setup, cash management / treasury services
- Work closely wit banking and credit team throughout relationship
- Manage day to day funding and paydown of loans against credit facility
- Reconcile DDA funding and operating accounts intraday and at end of day
- Escalate funding wires with AML / Sanctions and resolve client issues on a daily basis.
- Release interest in loans funded and paid off facility going to Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Ginnie Mae
What You’ll Do
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Develop a robust understanding of supported mortgage products and address internal inquiries in a timely & professional fashion, providing prompt resolutions & further troubleshooting issues as needed.
- Identify, create and/or maintain operational controls to mitigate risk and drive efficiencies in all processes.
- Clearly interpret & lead/support team with any ad-hoc work as needed, including but not limited to regulatory requests or special projects.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
