About the Role
Scotiabank is seeking a dynamic Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for our Ireland operations. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for safeguarding the Bank’s information assets, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving a robust security culture across the organization.
As part of our Information Security & Control (IS&C) team, you will lead governance, risk, and compliance initiatives, oversee security assessments, and provide strategic guidance on emerging threats and technologies. This role is critical to maintaining trust and resilience in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Security Governance & Risk Management: Drive compliance with global security standards, regulatory requirements, and third-party agreements.
- Perform Risk Assessments: Evaluate threats to data, technology, and processes, ensuring proactive mitigation strategies.
- Enhance Security Processes: Design and implement improved governance, risk, and compliance frameworks.
- Executive Advisory: Communicate cyber risk effectively to senior leadership, including ExCo and Board-level stakeholders.
- Audit & Regulatory Support: Coordinate audits and ensure adherence to Central Bank of Ireland Fitness & Probity Standards.
What We’re Looking For
- University degree in a related field
- CISSP, CISM, or CISA (preferred)
- Proven track record in information security within financial services
- Expertise in IT controls, risk assessment, and governance frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO27001)
- Strong understanding of modern security architectures (Cloud, Zero Trust, IAM, SOC/SIEM, Threat Intelligence)
- Incident leadership and crisis response experience
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Ability to influence and inspire trust at all levels
