Purpose

 

Contributes to the overall success of Collateral Management and Funding (CMF) & Rates Trading in Europe ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

 

Accountabilities

 

  • Repo - Responsible for providing repo liquidity to EU27 clients, managing the risk and liquidity of the CMF secured funding (repo) books, with a strong focus on revenue generation and global cross-sell.

 

  • Bills - Market making European government Bill book, meeting primary dealer requirements, managing interest rate risk in the trading book ensuring the bank remains within risk limits and guidance while meeting revenue targets.

 

  • Responsible for provision of funding to GBM SIDAC business units in both secured and unsecured markets, responsible for all GBM access to Treasury locally, ensure appropriate FTP policy is applied to GBM BU.

 

  • Assist the sales force in attending client meetings and conference calls while adding focus to client volume that is deemed beneficial to the bank.

 

  • Be a key member of the CMF and Rates trading teams and contribute towards idea generation, strategic development and overall risk management. Contribute to a high-performance environment and foster an inclusive work environment; supporting the vison, values and business strategy of the team and the firm globally. Develop desk infrastructure and processes when required.

 

  • Balance Sheet/Limits – manage efficiently the balance sheet usage locally and globally. Work with TFRM and reporting teams.

 

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

 

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Code of Conduct.

 

  • Contributes to a high-performance environment and fosters an inclusive work environment, supporting the vison/values/business strategy for the team.

 

  • The role has been identified as a Central Bank of Ireland prescribed Controlled Function. The incumbent is therefore required to have the relevant fitness and probity to carry out the role and responsibilities in such a manner that the incumbent can comply with the Central Bank of Ireland 2011 Fitness & Probity Standards, as applicable to the role.   In general, the Fitness & Probity Standards require the role holder to:

(a) be competent and capable;

(b) act honestly, ethically and with integrity; and

(c) be financially sound.

 

Education / Experience

 

  • Ability to hit revenue targets while managing risks within authorized limits.
  • A full understanding and experience of the markets and products traded, risks assumed and systems used.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with management at all levels, with front, middle, and back offices and with relevant support groups.
  • In depth understanding of the industry, the products and the evolving regulatory landscape
  • The role requires the person to be personable and build a good relationship with clients and internal desk relationships.
