Programme Overview:
Scotiabank offers an exciting opportunity to support the the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) team with a focus on the Global Banking & Markets division of a global bank headquartered in Canada commencing in June 2026.
This 10-week programme is designed for students in their penultimate year of university, and offers unique insights into many of the bank’s business areas as well as the opportunity to learn the nature of the control framework that protects the bank against key financial crime risks including sanctions. You will learn how AML monitors the strategies employed by the bank to mitigate key risks as well as the responsibilities and mandates of the Bank’s ‘three lines of defence’.
What You Can Expect:
- Assist with implementing/enhancing the control framework
- Help to administer various monitoring activities
- Prepare reports and presentations
- Pool and manipulate sources of data for analysis and reporting
- Review the local regulatory environment within which the bank operates
- Understand the Policies, Procedures and Standards governing the Bank's AML/ATF framework
- Gain experience testing control effectiveness
- Complete an intern project assignment and present it to the wider team
- Any other ad hoc work tasks assigned by management

Who We're Looking For:
- You are a penultimate year university student graduating in 2027
- You are available for a 10-week internship between mid-June to end of August 2026
- You are an initiative-taker with an inquisitive mindset that is willing to learn
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- You are a team-player with strong communication skills
- You are a team-player with attention to detail and a focus to deliver
- You posses a reasonable standard of statistical literacy
- You are eligible to work in Ireland
