Overview

Scotiabank is seeking a Talent Acquisition professional to support hiring across our U.S. Global Transaction Banking (GTB) and Corporate Functions businesses. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn the full lifecycle of lateral recruitment across a broad range of teams within a top‑tier global bank.


Reporting to the U.S. Corporate Functions TA Manager, the Consultant will serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing real‑time market intelligence, operational excellence, and high‑touch support. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about building early‑career pipelines, shaping candidate experience, and influencing hiring outcomes across a fast‑growing platform. This is an excellent entry point for someone looking to deepen their knowledge of investment banking recruiting, gain exposure to high‑impact front‑office teams, and grow into a strategic advisory role over time.


What You'll Do

  • Source and attract talent, including passive candidates. 
  • Screen profiles and resumes for relevant technical skills, education, and experience specific to GTB and Corporate Functions.
  • Support the end‑to‑end recruitment process by managing candidate communication, and updating the ATS.
  • Work closely with hiring managers and help document hiring needs, required skill sets, and candidate profiles
  • Provide candidates with timely updates to ensure a positive and transparent interview experience.
  • Work in partnership with HR Business Partners, Total Rewards, Onboarding, and HR Operations teams to ensure smooth transitions from offer to onboarding.
  • Conduct market research, contribute to market‑mapping initiatives, and help maintain up‑to‑date competitor talent insights.
  • Take part in proactive outreach campaigns that build pipelines for critical Analyst and Associate roles.
  • Monitor trends in the investment banking recruiting landscape and share observations with senior TA partners.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records and ensure compliance with U.S. HR policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Support the implementation of new recruiting processes, systems, and best practices across the TA team
  • Participate in campus partnerships, affinity group involvement, and broader talent initiatives when needed.

 

What You'll Bring:

  • 2+  years of recruitment or HR‑related experience, ideally within financial services, investment banking.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, Communications, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with sourcing platforms such as LinkedIn; curiosity and eagerness to learn more advanced sourcing strategies.
  • Experience with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS)—SAP SuccessFactors experience is a plus.
  • Comfortable working with Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, with willingness to build skills in reporting and data interpretation.
  • A collaborative mindset, eagerness to learn, and a customer‑service orientation when supporting candidates and hiring managers.
