Purpose
This operational leadership position is responsible for the end to end delivery of U.S. Domestic Equities and Fixed Income settlement activities within DTC.
The position supports the firm’s ability to operate at scale across global markets by aligning daily execution with regulatory expectations, the firm’s risk appetite, and evolving client and business needs. The manager partners closely with Operations, Risk, Finance, Treasury, Technology, and Front Office teams and is accountable for team leadership, issue escalation, operational performance, and maintaining a strong control environment.
What You'll Do
Settlement Operations & Execution Leadership
• Provide oversight of daily U.S. Domestic Equities and Fixed Income DTC settlement activity, including Buy-ins, Securities Borrow/Loan transactions, and ACATs.
• Ensure accurate and timely settlement across a complex product set, including equities, bonds, ADRs/ORDs, 144A/Reg S securities, and collateralized transactions.
• Maintain accountability for the full settlement lifecycle, including:
o Trade settlement and affirmation
o Segregation and regulatory custody requirements
o Triparty trade matching and funding activity
o P/S and DWAC processing
o Corporate action–related conversions and adjustments
o Cash wire processing and liquidity movements
o Daily funding, cash management, and position reconciliation
o Fail monitoring, escalation, and remediation
o Coupon, margin, and TMPG receivable/payable management
o Trade repricing and associated cash movements
o Management information and operational reporting
Business Partnership & Change Enablement
• Act as an operational point of contact for supported businesses, including Collateral Management and Funding, Group Treasury, Prime Services, Global Equity Derivatives, and Emerging & Debt Capital Markets.
• Partner with Front Office, Finance, Treasury, Technology, and Risk teams to support new product launches, client onboarding, market expansions, and operating model changes.
• Influence upstream and downstream stakeholders to improve trade quality, settlement outcomes, and funding efficiency.
Risk, Controls & Regulatory Accountability
• Manage the day to day operational risk and control framework for the settlement function, ensuring activities are conducted in line with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and the firm’s stated risk appetite.
• Support the Senior Manager during internal and external audits, regulatory exams, and control reviews.
• Support the team’s adherence to obligations under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook, and Guidelines for Business Conduct.
• Help drive continuous improvement in controls, reconciliations, exception management, and issue escalation to reduce settlement risk and operational losses.
People Leadership & Talent Development
• Lead, develop, and motivate a high performing settlement operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
• Support people management responsibilities, including performance management, workforce planning, succession planning, and employee engagement.
• Identify individual and team development needs, proactively coaching and mentoring talent to build technical depth, leadership capability, and bench strength.
• Address performance issues through structured feedback and coaching, reinforcing expected behaviors and standards.
What You'll Bring
• Minimum of three years of securities settlement operations across DTC eligible securities, equities and fixed income, including exposure to FED and international markets.
• Experience leading complex, regulated environments, with an understanding of operational risk, controls, and audit engagement.
• Strong understanding of DTC, CNS, RTTM, OW, Broadridge, triparty funding, margining, corporate actions, and liquidity management.
• A proven ability to partner with Front Office, Treasury, Risk, and Technology to deliver change and support business growth.
• Experience leading teams, developing talent, and driving cultural and performance transformation.
• Experience and familiarity with custodial platforms and connected technology applications (BPS, IMPACT, MMI, DTC, CDS, and ACATs)
