Purpose:
Graphic Designer will be supporting the Technical Investment Banking and Energy group. In this role, you will be focusing on how compelling graphic and presentation design can effectively help senior executives communicate their vision and strategy. Ideally, you will have oil and gas technical experience that can be used in conjunction with graphics or vice versa (technical skills with willingness to create graphics).
What You'll Do:
- Retrieving and using data gathered from multiple sources, you will create technically accurate illustrations, cross-sections, maps, and other materials for pitches and presentations to clients and internal stakeholders.
- File management and organization of data and final graphic output files
- Access and integrate data from various sources (Geoscout, XI Technologies, AER, NRCAN, CNSOPB, CNLOPB, Wood Mackenzie, client provided, etc..) to display on maps and visual references
- Work with and manipulate digital mapping data and scans
- Import, break apart, and layer vector drawings in Corel Draw for manipulation and Scotia standardization
- Print maps, reports and presentations
- Scan and print client material
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of your respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles.
- Ensure the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
What You'll Bring:
- Minimum 5-10 years relevant oil and gas graphic design/drafting/mapping experience
- Minimum high school graduate, college diploma in relevant field a strong asset (ie. Geological Tech)
- Sound knowledge of business and departmental procedures
- Strong level of understanding of CorelDraw X17 or newer, Adobe Acrobat, MS Office 365; ArcGIS and Illustrator knowledge is an asset
- Excellent computer skills; strong understanding of O/S, network structures and file association
- Knowledge of GeoScout, XI Technologies, data gathering and map building procedures and DLS, NTS, FPS survey systems is an asset
- Understanding of the basic aspects relating to oil and gas including the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, geological processes, and investor relations presentations in the oil and gas industry
- Able to multitask, prioritize and respond quickly to the needs of several people in short time frames
- Works well under pressure to meet project deadlines, adjusts to multiple demands and shifting priorities
- Flexibility to work overtime (nights or weekends with minimal notice)
- Strong creative and problem-solving skills
- High level of discretion required when dealing in confidential matters
Work Arrangement:
This position is an onsite role with the expectation that you will work minimum 4-5 days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
