Purpose

The Global Wealth Engineering (GWE) team is committed to delivering comprehensive wealth and asset management solutions to our clients. We are in the process of further expanding to additional new geographies. In support of this growth, we are looking for an experienced Talend Specialist (L7) to both deliver on existing initiatives and establish Business-Technology roadmaps for future initiatives.  You will help scale, enable, and drive development excellence as our team continues to deliver innovative solutions to Scotia customers.

 

Accountabilities

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Designs and implements data integration modules for ETL functions.
  • Communicates with business to obtain data requirements and performs data analysis on data provided.
  • Designs and implements data integration modules for ETL functions.
  • Investigates new technologies and advances, especially in the areas of ETL and Cloud.
  • Work with cross-team product owners, developers, and test engineers to support QA processes.
  • Support the business with ongoing product enhancements and feature development for major releases, work in parallel releases.
  • Support the business with overall change management initiatives to ensure proper adoption of the Talend platform.
  • Effectively communicates and builds rapport with team members, stakeholders and business partners using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close. Resolves conflicts/issues of medium complexity and escalates others as appropriate
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience / Other Information

  • Must to have:
    • Language fluency in English (B1+) and Spanish.
    • 1-2 years of experience using Talend for ETL/Data Integration/Data Warehousing required.
    • 1 or more years of experience working in a Linux environment required.
    • Job Scheduling experience (TWS, Autosys, Control-m, etc.) Autosys preferred.
    • Collaborate with technical/business leaders, product owners, software engineers, data architects, and data analysts to acquire and understand requirements/acceptance criteria.
    • Participate in defining Data Engineering Process and Technology strategies.
    • Design and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  • Soft sklills:
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
    • Strong communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems
    • Ready to take ownership of the tasks assigned.
    • Good communication, keeping team informed
  • Nice to have:
    • Familiar with Data Integration with Salesforce Orgs.
    • Large volume data architecture experience is a plus.

 

Working Conditions

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
