Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Risk Modelling Technology team globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Can adapt to a dynamic environment, balance simultaneous priorities and make quick and sound decisions under pressure
- Co-ordinate Month-end and Quarter-end processes alongside operations team and manage any roadblocks
- Being a strong advocate for agile technical practices and software craftsmanship
- Ability to create automated solutions to tackle process issues that may arise as well as further enhance application functionality for stakeholders
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience / Other Information
- 1+ Year experience in the administration of build tools for CI/CD (e.g. GIT, Bitbucket, ACCP, Jenkins, SonarQube and Artifactory etc.)
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and update existing code in various databases (Oracle, IIAS, DB2, MySql etc.), and programming languages (SAS, Java, Python, Bash, Groovy etc.)
- Experience with job schedulers such as Tidal, Maestro, Airflow is an asset
- Experience with Project and Issue tracking using tools such as Confluence and Jira
- High level Unix/Linux administration skills
