Purpose

Accountabilities 

•   Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank
relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign
complex software components and applications
• Leverage industry best practices design, test, implement and support a solution
• Support the bank’s counterparty credit risk technology stack to ensure that calculations and reports are
accurate and timely.
• Propose, design, and implement technology solutions to address business needs and support trading
and reporting activities.
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities
and decisions.
• Actively pursue effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of
Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day
business controls

Education / Experience / Other Information (include only those that are specific to the role)

•    Hands-on experience with Python with strong working knowledge of core Python libraries
including NumPy, SciPy, and Pandas.
• Ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into detailed technical
specifications to design or enhance sophisticated software components and enterprise
aplications.
• 2+ years of experience in Java and React, with the ability to contribute to multi-stack
development when required.
• 2+ years of experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP, or AWS.
• 2+ years of experience in Unix/Linux environments, with proficiency in shell scripting and
troubleshooting on Linux-based application servers.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or
Sybase, including query optimization and performance tuning
