Purpose
Automotive Finance Development team within Canadian Banking IT&S division is looking for a Senior .Net Developer who enjoys technology and is comfortable working with both technical and business staff in ensuring systems are maintained and designed according to enterprise architectural standards.
The incumbent will provide required Production Support of an assortment of Automotive Applications used by our Business Partners and provide Non-Production Support for our project type of work.
The incumbent will work as part of our Full Stack team primarily as First Tier Production Support but may be asked to participate in project work. This role participates in Shifts to ensure full coverage of our Business Partners business hours.
The Senior .Net developer will also provide guidance and counsel ensuring technology teams and business areas understand all the options and technology choices in support of their business. The incumbent will strive to become an application and business expert with strong leadership and facilitation skills with the ability to work well with others.
The participant will contribute to the overall success of the Product Systems / Automotive Finance business in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Key Accountabilities
1. Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
2. Provide first level triage and support for employees and employee computing systems. Resolve or escalate incidents reported by phone or email. Facilitate request fulfillment processes.
3. Interface with technical, operational and business client areas to resolve application, security and network/communication issues.
4. Ability to multitask support activities, managing shifting priorities on a daily basis.
5. Ability to lead support tasks from start to finish, following through to ensure successful completion.
6. Must be reliable, pro-active, results-oriented and attentive to details.
Skills, Experiences and Functional Competencies
1. Minimum 3 years of hands on experience with .Net, MS SQL and related technologies
2. Minimum 3 years hands-on Windows & Web development experience
3. Solid knowledge of.Net Core, Microservices, REST API and Event Driven Design in a Cloud setting (For e.g. Ms Azure/GCP)
4. Strong knowledge of Relational Database Design, Database Reporting & ETL using SQL Server Products Suite (T-SQL, SQL Always-ON, SSRS, SSIS)
5. Experience with Microsoft Studio Application Developer IDE, SQL Server Management Studio and REST API debugging tools (For e.g. Postman)
6. Expert understanding of C#, VB.Net, JavaScript Frameworks/Libraries (For e.g. React), HTML/CSS, XML/JSON
7. Experience with IIS Web server and Intel based systems
8. Experience with DEVOPS, TFS and build automation
9. Good understanding and/or working experience with Static Code Analysis tools and Code Security vulnerability remediation (e.g. Fortify Code Scan)
10. Working knowledge and experience with RabbitMQ platform or equivalent Message Broker platforms
11. Excellent working experience in Object Oriented Design and code refactoring principles12. Good understanding and/or working experience with cloud-based development
13. Excellent oral and written skills
14. Must be highly self-motivated with a drive to deliver and exceed expectations
15. This role requires shifts.
16. Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
17. Education / Experience / Other Information (include only those that are specific to the role)
• Bachelor of Engineering in Computers, OR
• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, OR
• Diploma or related experience in Computer Science or Engineering
Working Conditions
- Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Some travel may be required.
