Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of CCA – Products and Services team, supporting Caribbean, Central America, , ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- The candidate for this position will work mainly on migrate an application made in cordova to swiftUI supported by a software lead
- This position will also support other applications in the direction part time , as weill as, daily working in the new mobile application but in maintain the current one built in cordova
- Contribute to the assessment of sizing and complexity of User Stories and to the solutioning of those Stories.
- Develop User Stories to a high level of quality, including identifying error scenarios, the development of automated tests, and the review of code coverage and static code analysis reports. Ability to work collaboratively with peers or individually, as required by the User Story.
- Ensure deliverables meet architectural and coding expectations, including leveraging modern language features and functional programming coding styles.
- Work in a dynamic environment where priorities can change and be able to adapt and pivot between multiple competing priorities.
- Contribute to reviews of pull requests created by peers.
- Proactively monitor application environments with available tools, notify the larger team of any observed issues, and contribute to resolving those issues.
- Proactively identify and create awareness of opportunities to drive modernization of technology and automation of processes, including offering ideas of solutions to these opportunities
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be incorporate into in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience / Other Information
- Solid English communication skills, both oral and written (B1 minimum), and comfortable in a primarily English work environment.
- 3+ years experience in a iOS Software Engineer role is a must
- Experience or solid knowledge with Cordova is a must
- Experience with Angular
- Solid Knowledge with MVVM
- Experience with XCTest
- Familiarity with code editing tools like Xcode and VS Code
- Solid Knowledge with git and gitflow
- Experience with Swift, SwiftUI and Combine using the best practices in the industry.
- Familiarity with fastlane
- Experience on refactoring code efficiently.
- Familiarity with CI/CD is a plus.
- Experience in SCRUM Agile teams is an asset
- Experience defining UI is a plus
- Experience with Jenkins is a plus
- Experience working on multiple initiatives concurrently
- Experience working remotely in distributed project engagements
- Experience in banking or financial industry is an asset
- Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Bilingual English/Spanish language skills (B1+ English level)
Working Conditions
Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
