Purpose
Contribute to the overall success of the Business Risk Operations Center (BROC) for International Banking by ensuring the effective execution of individual goals, plans, and initiatives aligned with the team’s strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with applicable regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
The role holder will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the BROC operating model, including the design and application of methodologies and tools, ensuring alignment with local regulatory requirements and promoting long-term sustainability. The position also requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders, providing ongoing support and maintaining active and effective communication.
Accountabilities
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of collaboration, operational
- excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Promote active and effective communication with internal stakeholders, including risk, audit, and compliance teams.
- Ensure the sustainability of the operating model by aligning it with local regulatory requirements and international best practices.
- Identify opportunities for automation and standardization to enhance the efficiency of issue tracking and closure processes.
- Design and implement methodologies, tools, and processes to enable efficient lifecycle management of issues, from identification to closure.
- Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, ensuring timely resolution of challenges and mitigation of root causes.
- Monitor and follow up on open findings and action plans, reviewing supporting evidence and escalating delays in accordance with defined protocols.
- Coordinate with Audit, Compliance, AML, SOX Office, and other key stakeholders to support BROC integration and ensure consistent application of controls, methodologies, and institutional standards.
- Support the development and implementation of operational risk metrics and indicators to monitor performance against country or district-level risk appetite.
- Share recommendations and best practices to ensure consistent application of key controls across the region.
- Support the distribution of BROC reporting materials, including KPI dashboards and committee packages.
- Promote a strong risk culture through ongoing training and active engagement with internal stakeholders.
- Leverage available tools to monitor and update issue status, centralize evidence, and provide feedback.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends, systemic risks, and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.

- Leads a team of 6 FTE
- Frequent interaction with Director+ roles.
- Countries / regions / business units supported: Canada, DR, Mexico, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Caribbean Region & General Caribbean
- Frequent interaction with Audit, Compliance, AML Risk, and internal partners such as GOR
Education / Experience / Other Information
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Risk Management or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) is considered an asset.
- 7+ years of experience in financial services, with a strong background in risk management, compliance, audit, or operational control.
- Proven experience leading regional or cross-functional teams, preferably in international environments.
- Demonstrated success in implementing strategic initiatives and managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally to support regional initiatives and stakeholder engagement.

- Strong leadership capabilities with experience in building, developing, and motivating high-performing teams.
- Strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
- Ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders across business lines and geographies.

- High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity to lead effectively in multicultural environments.
Operational and Technical Skills:
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in both English and Spanish.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide strategic insights.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
- Deep understanding of internal control frameworks, risk management methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Experience in identifying systemic risks, documenting lessons learned, and promoting best practices across regions.
- Proactive and resourceful approach to identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting, milestone tracking, and stakeholder reporting.
Knowledge of:
- Internal Control and Risk Management policies, processes, platforms, and protocols.
- Operational policies, procedures, systems, and organizational structure of the Bank.
- Governance frameworks and regulatory environments across multiple jurisdictions.
Working Conditions
Work is primarily performed in a remote or hybrid environment, with flexibility to work from home. Nonstandard hours may occasionally be required to meet deadlines or coordinate across time zones.
Moderate travel may be required locally and internationally, depending on business needs and stakeholder engagement.
