Purpose of Job:

The  Senior Manager, Financial Insights – Client Profitability will lead the analytics agenda supporting the IB Finance function on client profitability, enabling data-driven decision-making through standardized methodologies, robust data models, and consistent, high-quality insights. The role will drive the profitability analytics roadmap across IB markets (Mexico, Caribbean, Chile, Peru, Uruguay), ensuring alignment with Finance strategy and the Bank's broader transformation from dashboards to decision systems. 

The incumbent will lead a team of analysts and managers, promote adoption of the profitability data model across Finance and business partners, and act as a strategic advisor to Senior Finance Leadership. All activities will be executed in compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and Scotiabank's risk culture.

Accountabilities   

•    Lead the standardization of client profitability practices across IB, ensuring data consistency, reliability, and comparability between countries and business lines. 

•    Own the planning (roadmap), design, and execution of profitability analytics initiatives (Personal Banking, Small Business, Commercial, BAU), applying an agile philosophy. 

•    Provide recurring and on-demand analysis to Finance leadership on client and product profitability, including drivers of NIM, PCL, RWA, RoRWA, RAROC, and cost-to-serve. 

•    Ensure integrity, governance, and controlled release of profitability outputs consumed by Finance, Business Lines, and Senior Leadership. 

•    Build and maintain executive-ready Power BI reports/dashboards, transitioning progressively toward decision systems and automated insights. 

•    Serve as a thought partner and strategic advisor to Finance leadership, translating analysis into recommendations that influence pricing, portfolio management, and strategic priorities. 

•    Lead, coach, and develop a team of BI Managers and analysts; promote a customer-centric, high-performance, inclusive culture. 

•    Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders across Finance, GRM, Business Lines, and Data/Technology teams in Toronto and IB countries. 

•    Understand the Bank's risk culture and ensure risk appetite is considered in daily activities and decisions; ensure compliance with the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Non-Compliance Framework, AML/ATF Manual, and Business Conduct Guidelines. 

•    Implement a workforce strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates the team, including a succession and development plan. 

Education / Experience / Other Information

•    Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field. Postgraduate degree (MBA, Finance, Analytics) is an asset. 
•    7+ years of experience in financial services, with significant exposure to Finance, profitability, and business intelligence; prior people-leadership experience required. 
•    Solid working knowledge of Retail, Small Business, and Commercial Banking products, and of profitability frameworks (FTP, RAROC, RoRWA, capital allocation, PCL). 
•    Fluency in Spanish and English is required. 
•    Demonstrated ability to lead analytics teams, define roadmaps, and deliver insights that influence executive decisions. 
•    Practical experience with Excel, SQL, Power BI, Python, data processing, database programming, and advanced analytics. 
•    Sharp interpersonal, leadership, and influencing capabilities in multicultural environments.

• Hybrid work schedule (Work from home and Office); non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
