Purpose
Contributes to the success of International Banking by providing continuous monitoring of critical platforms, applications, and services, ensuring the early detection of service degradations, alerts, and incidents, and facilitating initial triage in accordance with playbooks, operational procedures, and Bank controls. All activities are performed in compliance with applicable regulations, internal policies, operational risk procedures, security, compliance, and conduct standards.
Accountabilities
Maintain active surveillance of monitoring screens, dashboards, and operational consoles for International Banking applications and components during assigned shifts.
Monitor alerts, issues, and events across platforms such as Dynatrace, GEMS, Grail, designated dashboards, log management tools, and other authorized operational monitoring solutions
Identify signs of service degradation, outages, recurring errors, increased latency, transaction failures, anomalous behavior, or critical alerts.
Perform initial triage of alerts and incidents by validating visible impact, reviewing dashboards, analyzing logs, identifying symptoms, gathering evidence, and determining preliminary severity in accordance with established procedures.
Execute timely escalation to application, infrastructure, support, senior SRE, Incident Management teams, or business stakeholders based on escalation matrices and approved playbooks.
Support the creation, updating, and tracking of ITSM incidents or tickets, ensuring clear descriptions, initial evidence, detection timestamps, actions performed, and current status are accurately documented.
Consult and execute application playbooks, runbooks, and documented procedures for first-response activities, including approved basic actions and controlled remediation steps.
Run authorized batch scripts or operational commands for validation purposes or basic remediation activities, strictly within documented, approved, and role-defined scope.
Conduct health checks, dashboard reviews, alert validation, and periodic service checks at the beginning, throughout, and at the end of each shift.
Perform clear and comprehensive shift handovers, documenting open events, relevant alerts, actions taken, outstanding risks, and recommended next steps.
Support incident war rooms or bridge calls by providing real-time monitoring insights and sharing evidence from Dynatrace, Grail, logs, GEMS, and operational dashboards, without assuming ownership of advanced technical resolution.
Maintain operational discipline through accurate documentation, log updates, task follow-up, and adherence to monitoring procedures.
Identify and report opportunities for improvement in alerts, dashboards, thresholds, operational noise reduction, and documentation, enabling SRE Associates, Senior Associates, and responsible teams to optimize monitoring effectiveness.
Contribute to an inclusive, collaborative, service-oriented work environment aligned with the Bank’s control and compliance culture.
