Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Global HR Technology in Globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Lead QAT Strategy, Governance & Risk Management: Define and execute end-to-end QAT strategies aligned with business requirements and system architecture, ensuring adherence to enterprise standards, UAT methodologies, and the Bank’s risk appetite. Provide formal sign-off, identify risks, and ensure compliance with governance and regulatory expectations.
• Own End-to-End UAT Planning, Coordination & Delivery: Design and oversee UAT plans, test scenarios, and execution, managing project releases into test environments, coordinating code deployments, and ensuring optimal use of testing resources. Evaluate outcomes and provide go/no-go recommendations for production readiness.
• Act as Functional QA SME for Complex Systems & Integrations: Serve as the senior subject matter expert (SME) in functional testing, with deep knowledge of HR systems, integrations, and UAT environments. Provide technical guidance to teams and vendors, ensuring high-quality validation of complex, multi-system solutions.
• Drive Test Execution, Defect Resolution & Quality Assurance: Lead and monitor testing activities across multiple initiatives to ensure timely, high-quality delivery. Manage defect triage, root cause analysis, and resolution in collaboration with development teams, taking hands-on ownership in complex or critical situations.
• Manage Stakeholders, Resources & Delivery Priorities: Forecast testing efforts, manage resource allocation, and handle multiple competing priorities. Build strong relationships with stakeholders by maintaining consistent, professional communication via meetings, emails, and status reporting, ensuring alignment and timely decision-making.
• Build Team Capability & Drive Continuous Improvement: Coach and mentor team members, promoting high standards in both testing practices and communication skills. Ensure the team produces clear, concise, and professional documentation (test cases, defect reports, status updates). Drive continuous improvement in QA processes and foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture.
• Provide QA Leadership, Team Guidance & Initiative Execution: Act as a QA leader across projects, guiding QA Analysts in day-to-day activities, supporting effort estimations, and ensuring consistent delivery standards. Lead and contribute to new QA initiatives, including process improvements, automation strategies, and innovation efforts that enhance overall QA maturity and organizational impact.
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience / Other Information
- A degree in computer science, IT Business/Management or engineering related discipline
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
- Working knowledge of JIRA
Nice to have skills:
- Experience of about 3+ years in the banking sector
- Experience demonstrable working with SAP especially in payroll modules
- Experience leading Quality Assurance teams
- An understanding of ITIL processsses i.e. ServiceNow
- 3+ years of demonstrable, practical hands-on experience as a Quality Assurance Test Manager
- Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test documentation
- Strong communication skills in both English B1+ at least and Spanish
Working Conditions
- Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Limited travel internationally.
