Purpose

 

As a Senior QA Analyst within the Smart Automation Team, you will lead quality assurance efforts across automation solutions. You will be responsible for defining testing strategies, managing test execution, and ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements. This role demands strong expertise in testing methodologies, automation tools, and patch validation, along with the ability to mentor junior QA team members and collaborate across cross-functional teams. 


Accountabilities 

 

•    Define and manage end-to-end QA strategies for automation and software projects.
•    Collaborate with Business Analysts and Developers to interpret requirements and translate them into comprehensive test plans and acceptance criteria.
•    Lead test execution across functional, regression, integration, and system testing phases.
•    Oversee defect lifecycle management using tools such as Jira, ensuring timely resolution and retesting.
•    Perform advanced API testing using Postman and RestAssured, validating RESTful and GraphQL endpoints.
•    Conduct backend data validation and ensure data integrity across integrated systems.
•    Manage patch testing activities, including regression validation post-patch and coordination with infrastructure teams.
•    Support and guide User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test data preparation and execution oversight.
•    Provide risk-based recommendations for release approvals based on test outcomes.
•    Promote early testing and defect prevention strategies throughout the development lifecycle.
•    Participate in retrospectives and root cause analysis to improve QA processes and reduce defect leakage.
•    Maintain QA documentation including test cases, scripts, and knowledge repositories.
•    Act as a quality ambassador, ensuring alignment on testing goals across teams.
•    Communicate test progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders at all levels.
•    Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines and support DevOps initiatives.

Education / Experience / Other Information 

 

•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
•    Minimum 3+ years of experience in software QA, with a focus on automation and enterprise systems.
•    Automation testing experience with tools like selenium, UiPath test Suite will be considered as an asset. 
•    Hands-on experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, UiPath, WorkFusion, and Pega OpenSpan will be an Asset.
•    Strong knowledge of API testing protocols including REST, GraphQL, Postman, and RestAssured.
•    Experience with patch validation and regression testing post-infrastructure updates.
•    Proficiency in manual and automated testing techniques.
•    Solid understanding of Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies.
•    Strong communication and leadership skills.
•    Certifications (preferred but not mandatory): 
-    ISTQB Certified Tester
-    UiPath Certified RPA Associate


                                          
Working Conditions

 

•    Long periods of time are spent sitting at a PC using repetitive motions to access keyboard and mouse control.  Physical Environment
•    Incumbent is situated in an office environment where paper and chemical dust, noise and mechanical air circulation are present.
•    Sensory Attention
•    Extensive viewing of video display terminals, daily review of small print computer reports and detailed analytical work is required. Focused concentration is necessary to review and understand detailed technical requirements.
•    Volumes of work will vary with the project / release schedule and flexibility to meet the workload fluctuation is required. Overtime is often necessary for the incumbent and assigned staff.
•    Problems / conflicts must be identified and resolved immediately to minimize their impact on tight project deadlines.
Incumbent carries a laptop with dial-in access to provide after-hours consultation and direction.
