Purpose


Contributes to the overall success of the Global Fraud Technology Pega Smart Disputes Platform in Bogota ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Accountabilities 

 

•    Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
•    An expert to design and develop and to provide high quality deliverables during all the phases of the project, from participation in requirement gathering, design and implementation to post release support.
•    Lead the team as a specialized technical guide in the analysis, design, development, implementation, architecture, and support of Pega base solutions. Showing expertise in flows, UI and decision rules; and considering best practices, guardrails and any defined standard.
•    Sharing knowledge and helping the team with the correct usage in the diversity of tools and capabilities Pega offers.
•    Collaboration as part of an Agile development team, participation in daily stand-ups, work estimations, identify blockers and proposal of solutions.
•    Communicates expertly within and outside the team to resolve issues and propose solutions.
•    Participate actively in demos and review sessions of all project deliverables to assure the quality and completeness of the functionalities. This way we reach high availability, integrity, and confidence in the requirements.
•    Assurance the delivery of solutions within the committed times and with the expected quality.
•    Assisting actively in the identification of enhancements to the base product, bring in recommendations on the standard around the system architecture, applications, development, integrations systems, data model and testing.
•    Keep updated in the changing technological trends, self-taught person and maintain an understanding of the tech strategy and business.
•    Provide production support, including off-hour support if required.
•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be incorporate into in day-to-day activities and decisions.
•    Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
•    Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.


         
Dimensions


•    Professional in systems engineering or related engineering is required.
•    Having a Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) v7.X or higher is a nice to have.
•    Experience of at least three years in the development of applications with Pega or other BPM.
•    Exposure of Pega Smart Disputes for issuers is highly desired.
•    Experience of a least two years in agile projects.
•    Verifiable experience in relational databases; preferably in Oracle and / or PostgreSQL.
•    Experience in cloud technology (GCP/AWS/Azure) is nice to have.
•    Experience in J2EE (JSP, Servlets, EJB, XML, Java) is desirable.
•    Experience in Linux commands and shell script is nice to have.
•    Experiences in JBoss / Tomcat / WebLogic Application Server is desirable.
•    B1+ level of English
•    Banking experience, preferably with credit and debit cards.


Education / Experience / Other Information


•    A degree in computer science, IT Business/Management or engineering related discipline is desirable.
•    8+ years of demonstrable experience as a software developer

                                        
Working Conditions


•    Work in a standard office-based environment / Hybrid Model ; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
