Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of Global HR Technology Quality Assurance Testing globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities 

•    Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

•    Design QAT test plans; assign and review test documentation (functions, test cases, scripts).

•    Schedule and approve the release of projects into the QAT environment; execute test plans daily to meet the specific requirements for a project.

•    Continually evaluate priorities within the projects in response to frequent directional changes and take decisive action as required.

•    Assess the results of QAT tests and take appropriate action; work closely with the development group to resolve defects; escalate issues to management when necessary.
    
•    Work with individual project teams, during the software development life cycle, to ensure business and technical requirements have been fulfilled; contribute recommendations and assessments to ongoing project reviews.

•    Maintain a thorough and current understanding of a broad range of assigned banking applications, QAT code configuration, system integration, environment resources and code delivery process; provide technical advice to development teams and external suppliers on integration of specific applications within the UAT environment.

•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

•    Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Dimensions

•    Proven work experience in software Quality Assurance, 1-3 years is required.
•    Knowledge of QA methodologies, tools and processes. Demonstrable, practical hands-on experience using Jira.
•    Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
•    Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish and a demonstrated ability to resolve escalated issues effectively.
•    Nice to have experience/knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors and SAP Cloud Payroll
•    A2 English Level

Education / Experience / Other Information

•    A degree in computer science, IT Business/Management or engineering related discipline is desirable,
•    1-3 years of demonstrable, practical hands on experience as a QA Test Engineer

•    A2 English Level

Working Conditions

•    Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.  
•    Reporting into the QA Testing Specialist in Bogotá, the incumbent will be a member of the QA organization responsible for software testing across a very diverse portfolio of applications for Finance, HR, AML, Risk, Collections, Pega within Enterprise Technology.
