Purpose
The team develops, maintains, and supports Case Management Systems and applications for internal banking processes. The role provides technical leadership in the analysis, design, development, implementation, architecture, and support of Pega-based solutions. The PEGA Solutions Associate leads current and future implementation projects, introduces new technologies to meet business objectives, and offers technical consultation and guidance. They adapt to changing environments, infrastructures, and new technologies to meet client deliverables and achieve strategic goals.
Accountabilities
- Develop and deliver high-quality deliverables across all project phases, from requirements and design to post-implementation and production support.
- Assist with planning and executing unit, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Ensure timely delivery of solutions within structured timeframes.
- Identify and recommend enhancements to the core base product.
- Provide technical expertise and ownership of technical solutions.
- Recommend standards for systems architecture, application development, systems integration, data modelling, and testing.
- Collaborate with product owners, technology teams, and colleagues, with a continual focus on customer success.
- Participate in reviews and walkthroughs of project deliverables to ensure quality, high availability, integrity, and reliability.
- Stay current on rapidly changing technological trends, self-teach new technologies, and understand the Division’s business and technology strategies.
- Provide input and ideas to product owners and team members to solve complex business requirements.
- Participate in all aspects of application development for assigned applications or technology.
- Provide production and user acceptance testing support for complex technical problems, analysing issues, implementing solutions, and developing new support procedures.
- Understand and consider the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Pursue effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, ensuring adherence to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk controls.

Education / Experience / Other Information
• A degree in computer science, math, or an engineering-related discipline is desirable, along with at least 2 years of professional experience
• Experience in the analysis, design, and development of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) solutions (must have)
• Ability to quickly and independently develop advanced knowledge of the Pega Rules Process Commander (PRPC) Architecture and all PRPC design and implementation features (nice to have)
• Expected to learn Pega development skills in an intense training program and become Pega CSA certified within 4 months of hire

Hard Skills:
• Experience with Pega Case Management and Workflow-related concepts and data is an asset
• Agile project experience is also an asset
• Experience in Java, .NET, or MS SQL Server is an asset
