Purpose

Contribute to the overall success of Program Planning and Exeuction team ensuring specific goals, plans and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of HR’s strategies and objectives. Conducts all activities in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities  

•    Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
•    Champions the project’s vision: Ensure the program’s vision and objectives are clearly understood by the project team and applied throughout the project
•    Oversee and support workstream leads (if applicable) and PMs across the integrated project plan to ensure successful delivery on time and on budget, achieving the project’s objectives
•    Own integrated project plan, status reporting, and issue and risk management for the integrated project (identify, document, support/develop resolutions and mitigations), and appropriately communicate same to program leadership within the documented governance structure, reporting process and escalation protocol.
•    Chairs Project Status meetings; supports Work Stream meetings as required; schedules meetings as necessary
•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
•    Actively pursue effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank’s values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk. 
•    Contributes to a high-performing, inclusive work environment. 
•    Manages a portfolio of the most highly complex operational programs from start to finish and delivers impactful results; this includes collecting and analyzing process data, identifying root cause, requirements gathering/validation, scoping, developing, and implementing solutions, aligning partner expectations, project management and using metrics to measure and assess success and impacts.

Education / Experience / Other Information

•    Certification in project management (PMP) and 2+ years business experience
•    Expert familiarity with Project management disciplines and tools
•    2+ years running complex projects, preferably with experience in an IT environment
•    Excellent organizational skills/relationship management/communicator/problem solving
•    Must be proactive, self-Starter and capable of learning new ways of doing things
•    Capable of moving forward through complex situations, prioritizing
•    Strong knowledge of the Bank, or FIs is preferred
•    Fluent in English (verbal/written) is required B2 

Dimensions

•    Uphold Scotiabank corporate PM standards 
•    Manage financial project budgets in the range of $0.25M to $1M
•    Capable of supporting multiple unique and concurrent projects of medium complexity (2 to 5 projects)
•    Receives escalation support from direct manager 

Working Conditions 

•    Works in a standard office-based environment   
•    Non-standard hours are a common occurrence, and are based on project needs
