Purpose


Reporting to the Senior Manager, Procurement Operations, the Manager leads and oversees a team in Procurement Operations (including Process and Technology) to drive adoption of a technology platform, ensuring plans and initiatives are executed / delivered according to business strategies and in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Accountabilities 

 

  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Applies knowledge of procurement best practice and general business practice to respond to inquiries related to Procurement Policy and Procedures, and other related policies.
  • Leads their team to prepare internal business units for migration of their purchasing process to Scotiabank’s (S2P) Source-to-Pay Adoption technology platform (E.g., Coupa) and provide frontline support for all user requests and issues related to Procurement technology and processes. 
  • Monitors the ticket management systems, including support channels (AskGPS, AskGPO) to ensure timely support and resolution of tickets to drive adoption and compliance.  Leads their team on interactions with stakeholders to handle invoice inquiries, policy questions, purchase order issuance and assistance, system navigation and best practices.  
  • Monitors and presents reports on KPIs/performance of the S2P process adoption. Sets goals and takes necessary steps to drive actions towards achieving team objectives.
  • Interacts with the technical support teams to facilitate ticket resolution where required.
  • Provides timely access permission to Procurement Technology by following established procedures and guidelines.  
  • Assigns work to direct reports while providing them with guidance, coaching, and mentoring to execute on their development plans.
  • Recommends and enables the invoicing approach (i.e., email-invoice submission, cXML, CSV, other) that aligns to the supplier billing capabilities.
  • Interacts with business unit employees and suppliers for S2P platform onboarding, catalog set-up, training, and initial purchase-order issuance.
  • Reviews, approves, and follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Problem Resolution Procedure (PRP) documentation to ensure data quality, consistent resolution of common problems, and consistent delivery of service by their team according to established Operating Level Agreements (OLAs).
  • Escalates major issues to Sr Manager/Director and presents root-cause-analysis and potential solutions of issues escalated. 
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Creates an environment where his/her team actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.

Education / Experience / Other Information 

 

  • College Diploma or University Degree in related field
  • 4+ years of project management, business administration, business analysis, data analyst, business process improvement, operations lead experience related to procurement

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
