Purpose
Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Cybersecurity Investigations the Cybersecurity Investigator works on network environment and data security cases stemming from the bank’s various security controls. The Cybersecurity Investigator works with a variety of technologies and business lines to remediate and contain events that pose a network or data risk to the bank.
Accountabilities
• Safeguards the bank’s global assets and data through proactive monitoring and incident response within the Security Operations Center (SOC).
• Conducts cybersecurity investigations using advanced analytical techniques and technologies to identify, assess, and mitigate threats.
• Reports directly to the GCDI IB Manager, ensuring alignment with strategic cybersecurity objectives.
• Responds to data loss security events triggered by the Security Information & Event Monitoring (SIEM) platform, as well as incidents reported by employees, customers, or surfaced through threat intelligence.
• Enhances global security monitoring and threat intelligence capabilities for Data Loss Monitoring (DLM) and Incident Response (IR) by leveraging a variety of specialized solutions.
• Utilizes intrusion detection infrastructure to identify and remediate threats across the enterprise environment.
• Investigates and evaluates suspicious activities—such as phishing attempts—reported by internal stakeholders and customers.
• Contributes to strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening the organization’s security posture through the implementation of new technologies and controls.
• Translates complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
• Documents investigation findings with precision, incorporating relevant artifacts, conclusions, and a coherent narrative to support incident analysis and reporting.
Education / Experience /
- you have between 6 months and 1 year of experience in cybersecurity, support, or related areas, with strong knowledge of cybersecurity conceptsYou possess advanced communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills in English. The same in Spanish is a strong asset.
- You are familiar with working in large professional organizations.
- You have an understanding of basic computing, networking, and cybersecurity concepts.
- You are curious about emerging threats and technologies and are interested in applying these to the business.
- You have spent a lot of time learning about the field of cybersecurity, perhaps getting practical hands-on experience at home using publicly-available CTFs and labs.
- Certifications (Sec+, CySA+, Net+, A+, CISSP Associate) are nice to have.
Working Conditions
Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence
