Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Technology Finance in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Manage month-end and quarter-end reporting deliverables for Global Technology Enterprise Platforms and International Banking
- Manage annual planning, monthly forecasting activity including variance analysis.
- Prepare monthly headcount report and analysis on the data for monthly / quarterly reporting (tracking of new hires, attrition, vacancies, conversions etc.)
- Prepare analysis, financial modelling allowing technology stakeholders make informed investment and prioritization decision.
- Supports the development of Finance reports as requested, endeavor to improve financial information.
- Supports in information gathering process and analysis for strategic and tactical projects requested by senior management.
- Drive continuous improvements in financial planning, reporting, and analytics processes through automation, data quality enhancements, and development of management reporting solutions.
- Act as a key liaison between Finance, HR, Technology, and operational teams to ensure alignment of staffing, forecasting, and financial management activities.
- Provide financial governance and oversight for technology-related expenditures, intercompany transactions, and resource planning initiatives to support organizational objectives and investment decisions.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Dimensions
• Engage with partners across both Finance, Business Line, and Technology divisions from all levels
• Provide management reporting, planning, and forecasting of operating spend
• Demands at month-end/quarter-end are high in terms of financial reporting requirements; must balance workloads and produce high quality output efficiently to meet tight deadlines
• There is a constant need to reassess the nature and content of management reporting and initiate changes to produce increasingly value-added, insightful analysis and reporting, while balancing the pressing demands to meet current reporting deadlines, prioritize executive requests and deal with day-to-day issues
Education / Experience / Other Information
• Minimum of 4 years relevant experience within a large organization preferably in the banking industry (NH)
• Recognized undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline
• Accounting designation (CPA/CMA/CGA) preferred. (NH)
• Excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written) with ability to articulate financial information with senior stakeholders in Technology and finance.
• Thorough understanding of IFRS standards as it relates to capitalization of intangibles (software development etc).
• Extensive experience and knowledge of financial and management reporting principles as applied to banking issues, thorough understanding of the business planning process, dealing with accounting systems, budgets and internal controls
Working Conditions
- Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
